About LINk

Brighton and Hove Local Involvement Network (B&H LINk) aims to give citizens a stronger voice in how their health and social care services are delivered. It is run by local individuals and groups and independently supported. The role of B&H LINk is to find out what people want, monitor local services and use their powers to hold them to account.

B&H LINk is a statutory body under the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007.

LINk Powers

B&H LINk has powers to monitor and investigate issues relating to publicly funded health and social care. It can help you to have your say and help improve local health and social care services. LINks can help bring about changes to services by listening to what you have to say and acting on it.

Brighton and Hove LINk can:

  • Request that health and social care commissioners provide information about their services and ensure that a response is received.
  • Issue reports or make recommendations about a service and ensure a response is received from commissioners.
  • Refer matters to Brighton and Hove City Council’s Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee (elected councillors).
  • Enter the premises of certain services and view the care provided. Read more here.
