New Steering Group members sought for health & adult social care watchdog

New Steering Group members sought for health & adult social care watchdog Brighton & Hove Local Involvement Network (BH LINk), the city’s independent health and adult social care watchdog, is seeking new members to join its steering group.

BH LINk’s remit is to investigate issues related to publicly funded organisations, such as hospitals, day centres, care homes, GP practices and dental surgeries and to make recommendations for improvements to services. It is a statutory body and has legal powers to make sure that those improvements really do happen.

Being part of the Steering Group will give you the opportunity to influence and network with senior health professionals and politicians, gain invaluable experience and to make a real difference to the delivery of local services.

As one current LINk Steering Group member explained:
"I worked for the NHS for many years and am now keen to use my knowledge and expertise to improve it further. I have always encouraged local people to have their say on how the NHS functions as it’s the users of the service who have the best idea on what works well; Taking their views into account is vital if we are to provide a high quality and cost effective service in the future”

If you are passionate about making our health and adult social care services better, have knowledge or experiences of local providers and are able to commit to a minimum of 6 hours a month then get in touch. Steering Group members will receive a full induction and training to prepare them for the role. Please read the following and if you are interested in finding out more please contact Claire Stevens, BH LINk Manager (01273) 810234 info@bhlink.org
