The Learning Disability Together Network brings together organisations and service providers from across different sectors in the city with the aim of creating greater opportunities for members of the learning disability community to access work, learning and volunteering opportunities, and leisure facilities.
The Learning Disability Together Network is funded by, the Learning Disability Development Fund and Awards for All funding. The Network is managed by a partnership between Impetus, Care-cops and the Community and Voluntary Sector Forum (CVSF).
The next LDTN network meeting will be taking place on Tuesday 28th September 2010, 9.30-1.00pm in the BMECP centre (which is behind Brighton Train Station in the New England Quarter). The meeting will offer an opportunity to network with service providers, council staff, voluntary and community sector organisations, businesses, and others interested in developing opportunities for the learning disability community.
As well as networking you can hear about the hugely successful Grace Eyre-Sussex Police volunteering scheme, the Thumbs up! scheme, and about some of the changes which are happening in the city as a result of the move towards an Intelligent Commissioning Framework. You can also have your say by participating in workshops on Social Enterprises and the Brighton and Hove Local Involvement Network (LINk). A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.
All are welcome to attend this meeting, but please do let us know if you plan on coming along. To book your place, please contact Libby Young by emailing libby@cvsectorforum.org.uk or calling 01273 810237.
